Polly Macpherson - Creative Consultant, Artist/Object Maker/Researcher & Educator
Polly specialises in setting up creative industry projects that engage communities and businesses to work collaboratively in order to establish new approaches/developments for cultural and sustainable knowledge transfer.
Her creative work/research comes under the themes of Mapping, Journey and Movement. She is interested in the different ways in which this theme can be presented, organized and structured to create both cohesive pieces of visual composition as well as strengthening the original identity of the individual components. There are a variety of different ways in which she have successfully executed these ideas through the mixing of materials (e.g. clay & combustibles), sound investigation & film/stills to produce objects, drawings and images.
As an Associate Head of School for Enterprise and Creative Industries at Plymouth University
Polly is leading the Enterprise & Creative Industries agenda within the school of ADA (Art, Design & Architecture) developing Academic Excellence and External Enterprise/Creative
Industries based activities.
As an Associate Professor in Design & Award Leader for BA(Hons) Designer Maker Polly leads a group of internationally acclaimed practitioners who teach the thinking, inventing, designing, creating, manufacturing, constructing, building, producing and making of objects and artefacts.
